Well - 2Peas has announced today that they are closing. They say their site and store are semi functional until the 10th, and it looks like they've locked their forums to any comments, shortly after 9am CT this morning.
It's not a surprise to me, I was expecting it due to a few different things I've noticed when I would go there.
I bet ACOT will be getting more members shortly. Hopefully not the drama mamas. It's always fun to see and welcome new members!

I just heard from Susan. Before I found ACOT, I had given 2 peas a try. Never bought anything but I uploaded one layout and tried the forum. Didn't like it one bit.

Never shopped there much.....I think only once did I ever buy. Never uploaded or used their forums. I found ACOT first (the benefit of knowing the owner ahead of time lol) and never liked any other boards! That said, I hate seeing any scrappy business, online or in real life, paper or digi, close. The reasons vary a great deal, but I hate seeing businesses not making it for whatever reason!

I used to look through their gallery from time to time. LOTS Of talented ladies, but I always felt their layouts were too "professional" for me, and like I could never recreate anything they had. I've heard from others that there was lots of drama tho, so I definitely hope we don't get any of that. I will just choose not to respond to that! I LOVE our ladies now and how fun this board is and DRAMA-FREE and I hope it stays that way!

I bought from their store twice years ago. I used to scrap with two women who were on the message board. They were always stirring up trouble and just plain mean. The arguments would overflow onto facebook too. It was awful seeing adult woman basically bullying and harassing each other. I stopped scrapping with them because I was sick of the drama.

That's shocking! I was on a sb board that closed in 2009! I don't think it closed because of the economy only. I think the owners were ready for a life change! It was so sad tho! So I feel for the "peas" who have to find a new SB home!! But out of my experience and hopefully theirs I found ACOT!!!

Im stunned, though the rumors have been flying around for awhile. I guess I am surprised because it seemed like they were getting in new product the last few weeks. I have been at Two Peas since almost the beginning, back when it was just a scrapbook store and website. I was addicted to their message boards but rarely bought from them, even back when I was on a buying spree. Maybe I should feel guilty about that, but the few times I bought from them, their shipping rates were high, their customer service was iffy, and they were always out of product unless you got there early and saved stuff in your basket. I think I ordered from them possibly twice. On the other hand, the orders Ive placed here have been delivered quick with great customer service. I wish I had found this place long ago. Plus, the drama and childisness on the boards at 2peas (mostly the NSBR) was unbelievable. It was like being in high school and if you were not in the cool clique your posts were ignored or worse made fun of. However, the scrapbook board itself was always a wealth of knowledge and there were always people there to help out or answer your questions. I will miss that greatly. Most of all I mourn that another scrapbook icon is closing. I wonder how long till we can no longer buy supplies. I hope I am wrong, but it worries me.

Don't worry - we are here, you are like an old timer to us from the first post. And if they close, I'm sorry to see another store closing but I know I have A Cherry on Top to do my shopping. I do ALL my shopping here, with two exceptions 1) I need to tonight or 2) they don't carry it. Other than that - I've always been a "Cherry". I haven't visited 2 Peas in years but like lots of you, that was where I first joined an on-line scrapbooking community. At that time we had several LSS and I didn't have the need to shop on-line but if I needed something, that was where I shopped. I met some other local and not-so-local scrappers through 2Peas which was cool. It is kind of scary to see them close as so many other Scrappy sites are no longer in business. Hopefully ACOT continues to feed my need for shopping/chatting/challenges!! This is the only place I shop and visit daily and I don't know what I would do if ACOT closed. |

It is sad to hear of another scrap site going under. I hadn't heard about this, but not surprised. I've heard for many years about the drama going on there. I've only visited now and then to find a poem or title in their resource area. I certainly hope they don't bring that kind of drama to our wonderful ACOT site! This is my home and the only place I shop for my supplies.

I received an email from them today. I was a member years ago but didn't do much and then around NSD I decided to check them out again. I did one of their challenges for the day but I found their site more difficult to maneuver in than other sites. I did check out their sales and ordered some papers that I have been looking at. The site was having difficulties and it took a while to get through the order. I will be sticking to ACOT for shopping from now on.

I have mixed feelings about 2Ps... I was an exclusive 2Ps shopper (loving their sales and $50 freeship) before finding ACOT and then split it about 50/50 depending on availability of product - like Freckled Fawn. However, in all those years, I only ever got on the boards a couple of times...Not really that active on boards anyway but never got a reply to simple questions except for a smart-ass one once. I had heard about the nasty drama over there - actually from one of those nasty Scrapping BitchFest Blogs (which I left after one night of reading because those people are atrocious and I would never have thought scrapbookers could be that! But on the bright side, that's how I found out about Shimelle classes!). Anyway, I took a couple of workshops/classes I really liked (not indefinite access afterall!). Then...starting around the first of the year their turn-around went from 3 days order-to- receipt to over a week order-to- ship! Then they got rid of their customer-service 'ticket' system to go to 'email us' (which I did for 3-months straight regarding defective merchandise with never one.single.word. in reply). So while the shipping made me pretty much an exclusive ACOT shopper, the cs clinched it. Then this month I decided I was going to pick up some of the 'exclusive' products (wood & flair made exclusively for 2Ps by Freckled Fawn I think)... it was in my cart to pay when I placed my ACOT regular order on the first of the month - but of course all that product is gone.gone.gone! Then this entire closing has been handled extremely rudely in my opinion - like the closing of the boards without notice, etc. So...  On the other hand, I hate to see another scrapbooking supplier bite the dust - they seem to be dropping like flies. Also, I too was addicted to their YT channel - everyday a different series especially GLITTER GIRL!!! who has completely transformed my scrappy mindset over the past couple of years (never ever missed a single one!) Thus, I am extremely concerned about Glitter Girl/Shimelle as I know that she was an employee/contractor and she has a new baby at home.  Oh No!!! what am I going to watch on Wednesday & Sunday nights now???!!! |
