I am just scared for the future of our hobby! 2peas--Archivers--tons of magazines-- there used to be so much out there and now not much at all. Who will the companies sell their new products to? I think I did peas maybe twice but definitely was not a welcoming board. me, too! When all of the magazines quit publishing, I thought we were in trouble. I hope ACOT survives for many, many more years!

I don't think our hobby will vanish, but it is definitely in a consolidating phase. Many new small businesses are popping up now that the economy is improving in both retail and branding. I think many of the companies that are being absorbed by AC are companies that struggled during the recession and couldn't recover.

I will miss the For Sale or Trade Forum the most. It was a great place to find things and to sell things. It was very active. Though, it was getting very Studio Calico oriented. I was just wondering if ACOT has ever considered a for sale or trade forum. It's a great way to liquidate stuff you no longer need while picking up some older lines and things without having to go through ebay and the like. I've been doing a major clean out of my scrap room and need to get some stuff moving. A lot of it is nice stuff, like stamps and things, and I'd love to be able to swap some of it out. I think I only shopped at Two Peas once or twice (I think in part I wanted to get the Magnolia Magazine, which ACOT doesn't seem to carry.) and I visited their boards for an online crop event that was pretty fun, but then, aren't they all? It is particularly nice how low-drama our ACOT forum is here. It's nice to have a warm fuzzy place to hang out with fun and creative people, like we have here. It's always neat to get new members, and if we do get more, hopefully they'll follow the example set here and be friendly and supportive of each other. Everyone doesn't have to agree on things, it's just nice when everyone is caring toward each other. I'm so glad ACOT isn't closing (at least, as far as I know...please don't go away ACOT!) The message board I enjoyed being a part of for many years closed suddenly and if I hadn't found ACOT, it would have been an even sadder thing than it already was. I stay in touch with my friends from that board, but it's not the same, you know? That reminds me, when our boards come back for real, I need to send out some invitations to them so maybe I can get them to come play here. Anyone know when the boards are returning here? A week? A month?

ACOT does have a for sale forum. It's not used often though. I put something up on there, but wound up actually selling it on 2Peas forum. I think everyone forgets it's there.

I feel bad for the people who use their site to submit their work and shop there. Personally, I do not care for them. Yes, they have a lot to offer, merchandise-wise. But the two occasions I shopped there were bad experiences. Over two weeks to receive my orders, and when I contacted them to inquire, they were not very friendly! I started shopping there about 10+ years ago and then had to stop. Went back to them in 2012 (before I found ACOT) and had wonderful experiences shopping there until the beginning of this year (I was doing about 50/50 there and here each month + they carried the Exclusives and Freckled Fawn) at which time all things went very very south very fast... my orders wouldn't even process for a week, customer service was non-existent, etc. I took classes as well and loved them. I didn't like the message boards and that's why I was very reluctant to get on this one (but am sooooooo happy I did!!!!!). I just want people to know that once they were a great company to buy from and it's sad they went down so fast. ACOT is also a great company to buy from PLUS they have super awesome members on the boards!!!

I was bummed about 2Peas because I feel bad when someone has to close down a business and jobs are lost. I posted things in the gallery and loved looking through for inspiration. I was never a fan of the message boards -- WAAAAAY to much drama, and I think I only shopped there once and it was not a positive experience.

The message boards weren't very welcoming. I much prefer being here where everyone takes care of each other. But, I hate to see another part of our industry close.

I used to download their free digi stuff each month when I was trying digi but never bought anything or chatted on their forum. Still too bad they are closing. Oh yeah, I did too - loved the Rhonna Farrer kits, I think that's how I was introduced to her & she's still one of my favorite designers! (MME is mainly where I see her stuff now.)

I think I did peas maybe twice but definitely was not a welcoming board. That's the thing though - the same day I got the 2Peas email, a few hours earlier I got one from Archiver's talking about how they redesigned and MAJORLY EXPANDED their online store!!! It really made me wonder if there was any connection!?! So that's encouraging industry-wise, anyway. I do think it's sad but sometimes it's hard for the 'big companies' too and because they're so big when they close it's sudden. So, welcome any 2P'ers who are looking around here!

I just want to assure you all that this former 2peas member will never start any drama and I personally hope that the "nice" Peas find their way over to ACOT, as I did. This board is close to how Two Peas was maybe 10 years ago, though there was drama then too, I guess. I personally found most of the drama on the non scrapbook board though. Its just so odd though to have the contact cut off so suddenly. There were some really supportive people on the board and not that I consider them friends (as I never met them irl) I will miss "chatting" with them and responding to their posts. This message board is quite a bit slower than theirs but maybe that is a good thing too...people are out living their lives and not on a message board 24/7.

Even with the bad experiences I'd had in the past several months, it seems rude to the extreme to cut the Boards that way. I haven't been on the Boards in ages, but tried to access it to see if I could find out any additional info. Shutting them down at the time the announcement was made seems rather bizarre. Also, the fact that we will no longer have access to those workshops we purchased rather than just opening them up. And they will probably do away with the YouTube channel rather than let us access those videos (according to Shimelle those are all the property of 2Ps). It just seems like they're saying a big 'f-u' to all their customers and possibly contractors. Burning bridges takes a lot of hate.

And yes, I am having withdrawals from my Glitter Girl, et.al. videos and will sorely miss Shimelle's 'Best of Both Worlds' monthly 'kit'. I don't know how I'm gonna buy product now from anyone as seeing her use them was such an "oh oh oh I gotta have that" moment each month!

There's a discussion about this on paperclipping.com and it seems the Garden Girls found out 2Peas was closing the same way we all did. That's really crappy...those super talented ladies really did a wonderful job on those videos and they find out "on the street" they are fired. It seems they were having a lot of problems with credit and vendors but they could have gone out with a little class but chose not to.
