NOTE: I have set up a gallery spot in the gallery for my June Music Challenge and would like anyone that has already participated, and new participants, to please submit their creation to it. I have no access to those that already participated, so please put your submission in the spot in the gallery for the June Music Challenge. I am leaving the gallery spot open until July 6 so as to give everyone that participated time enough to see this and post their submission to the gallery spot. You do NOT have to repost to this thread, just be sure to post to the gallery spot. New participants can post to the thread but please post to the gallery spot also. I hope I catch all of you that had originally participated.
Thanks to Brandy for e-mailing me her challenge list, as my text for this challenge was in it!
I really would prefer to have only new entries posted here. Once we regain access to our "home" I will list everyone that entered. I will not pick a winner until I have access to all entries, so if it goes beyond the end of June you actually have until then to enter. Let's hope it doesn't come to that though!
This month's music challenge was inspired by Denise's thread "Do any songs make you teary eyed?" I don't want this to necessarily be a "sad" thread, so my challenge is for you to pick a song that has a deep meaning for you. It can be a song that makes you teary eyed, or it can be a song that makes you extremely happy. Use the song title, or a lyric from the song, as your title. Then scrap about it. Journaling would be great but I'm not making it a requirement in case it is something you don't wish to journal about but would still like to scrap the memory. Just let us know what the special meaning is that the song has for you.
Open to paper, digi, hybrid, cards, crafts, or whatever this inspires you to create.
May be combined with one other challenge if that challenge allows it.
Multiple submissions are allowed.
Open until the end of June or until I am able to have access to all previous entries.
A random winner will receive a $5 ACOT gift card from me!
Have fun!
This is a layout that I did using the song "Can't Stop Loving You" by Phil Collins...
This is my journaling, which explains why this song is so special to me...
In the winter of 2003 Cider became sick with cancer. He was only six years old and one day he seemed to be fine and then the next thing we knew he was sick. Cider fought hard and we fought along with him. The ride to the vet was far and we made many trips back and forth all winter and spring. That year the weather was relentless, and we made most of our trips in pouring rain, snow storms, and even a blizzard. I used to refer to those storms as tears from the sky, as it seemed as though the world knew the intense sadness in our lives. During most of our trips, the song “Can’t Stop Loving You” by Phil Collins would come on the radio and the lyrics would hit me hard. As soon as it started with “so you’re leaving…” I would burst into tears. The song would play almost every drive we took to the vet and to this day when I hear it I always get tears in my eyes. I refer to it as “Cidie’s Song” and it will always have a special meaning to me.
